EPADHA Omega-3 – developed with passion

Since 2004, the wholly owned TINE company Maritex AS has together with TINE’s Product and Development division carried out extensive research on marine Omega-3 oils. They have played an important part in the development of the patented emulsion process.

In 2007, TINE could, as one of the first providers in the world, offer its own marine Omega-3 oils, free of taste and smell. By focusing on raw materials and Maritex’ production process we can ensure high quality oil.

TINE is behind a significant innovation in which we have transferred all our competence, hygiene routines and logistics from the dairy industry to the fish industry. This way we maintain full control at all stages from raw materials to the end product application.

TINE offers several alternatives types of its EPADHA Omega-3; pure marine oil, mixture of rapeseed oil and marine oil and emulsion. The biggest challenge in producing Omega-3 oils is to prevent oxidation. It is therefore important to have control of the whole process, from fish to final application.

Maritex and TINE enjoy a unique position, as one of the only producers in the world who control the entire value chain from raw material to final ingredient, in terms of our EPADHA Omega-3 oils or EPADHA Omega-3 emulsion. A short distance between catch and processing is essential in order to reduce oxidation of raw materials. To meet this challenge TINE has invested in a modern factory for production of fish oil and a state-of-the-art factory for production of our emulsion. After years of research and product development TINE can offer marine Omega-3 oils with an extremely low oxidation level.

Our EPADHA Omega-3 oils are produced in a controlled and customized environment. We can guarantee that only fresh oil and only the best quality raw materials are used in the manufacturing of our products. The oil is traceable in all parts of the value chain.
