Question:
Answer:

Those who do not consume cod liver oil or other Omega-3 supplements on a regular basis or seldom eat oily fish (less than one dinner portion per week), have a lower intake of EPA and DHA than what is recommended.

This applies to almost half of the Norwegian population3,4. Dietary studies show that the older generation have both more fish in their diet and to a larger degree consume cod liver oil or other marine oil supplements1,2.

It would appear as though younger people constitute the group with the lowest intake, with regard to both oily fish and supplements. When it comes to younger children, the numbers of those consuming supplements are higher, but the intake of oily fish is low.
